The second of our Stage Rules Stretch Goals has been unlocked!
In our last Stage Rules update (#3) HERE, we talked about how these rules help shape a scene, drive the narrative, and create challenges or complications. Today we will talk a little about denizens.

Denizens are a particular Stage Rule that represents any of the folks a character might encounter around Solemn Vale. Denizens can include the residents of Solemn Vale, other outsiders caught in the village’s Wyrd, and anyone else unfortunate enough to appear in one of these stories.
Witch
Darkness doesn’t just spread by itself; it needs nurturing and guidance.
Foreboding 6, Threat 5, Taint 8
Curse: In addition to any other consequences, failing to overcome the Old Witch’s Taint challenge always scratches out one character’s Soul.
Church Investigator
He’s seen terrible things, but they’ve always been the work of man and not monster.
Pressure 5, Invocation 5, Wits 5
Ally – Soul: If present as an ally or friend to a player character, the Church Investigator adds 1 to the result of attempts to overcome Soul challenges. If a player character would have their Soul scratched out, they may instead choose to have the Church Investigator suffer the effect, losing Ally – Soul in the process.
